Increase in Supercomputer System Usage Fees and Reduction in the Number of Service Nodes for FY2023.
For those who are considering using our supercomputers in FY2023
Due to the recent sharp rise in electricity rates, the total electricity charge for each system is expected to significantly exceed the total system usage fee income. In light of this situation, we have decided to raise the system usage fee for FY2023. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and ask for your kind understanding and cooperation.
Electricity rates are likely to continue to rise in the future and it will be necessary to double the system usage fees for FY2023. However, since it is difficult for users to double their usage fees, we will reduce the number of service nodes as well as increase system usage fees as follows.
- The fee for FY2023 will be uniformly 1.5 times the FY2022 fees.
(Additional disk fees and Ipomoea-01 system usages fees will remain unchanged.) - 25% of Wisteria/BDEC-01 Odyssey computation nodes which are high energy consumption will be suspended.
(The Wisteria/BDEC-01 Aquarius and Oakbridge-CX compute nodes will not be suspended.)
If the electricity prices decrease during FY2023, we will increase the number of compute nodes in service for Odyssey. We are also considering revising our system usage fees again for FY2024, if possible.
